17-year-old boy sustains head and facial injuries following assault and robbery in Bury St Edmunds

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault and robbery in Bury St Edmunds.

At approximately 3:45pm on Friday 21 May, an altercation took place between at least three males at the junction of Westley Road and Out Risbygate Street. A 17-year-old boy sustained head and facial injuries as a result of the incident.

A rucksack was also taken from the boy, but was dropped after a short distance as one suspect fled the scene.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries to answer at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on 11 June.

Anyone with information, or who may have been driving in the area around the times of the incident who has a dashcam in their vehicle, is urged to contact Suffolk Police quoting crime number 37/26691/21.
