3 million hits on social media for Handy’s wonderball

Jonah Handy has blown social media up with his wicket against Hadleigh on May 21st.

The twenty-one year old bowled an unplayable ball to Hadleigh’s batter Kudzai Maunze, which swung in to him when he was expecting it to go straight.

The clip, filmed at Mildenhall Cricket Club has gone viral with over 3 million people watching the wicket on social media.
Mildenhall Cricket Club said “we could not have predicted 3.25 million worldwide viewers. When I first saw the clip of the delivery I was blown away, and by the looks of it the cricket world has been as well”
Popular social media account @cricketdistrict posted the video and were speechless saying “oh my word”.

Mildenhall continued, saying “Jonah is quite a shy character so not sure how he is taking his one week of fame but as a club it’s given us great publicity and hopefully many new followers “Handy can be seen wheeling away in celebration with his teammates in surprised elation at the astounding feat. and Mildehall believe “the Ipswich & East batters will be “leaving” too many deliveries outside of off-stump”.

Mildehall eventually lost the game by 78 runs with Handy ending up with figures of 1-54, but his wonderball won’t be forgotten quickly.
