Byron Burger in Arc to reopen following deal

Byron burger in Bury St Edmunds has been saved following a rescue deal.

The struggling burger chain will permanently close over half of its 51 sites after being transfer to its new owner, Calveton UK .

The restaurant in the Arc is one of 20 which will re-open – with just 550 of its 1,200 employees being retained. The deal, which was due to be completed through a pre-pack administration process on Friday afternoon, will be the latest example of the carnage being wreaked across Britain’s restaurant sector.
