Catalytic converts stolen from vehicles in Bury St Edmunds

Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft of a catalytic converter in Bury St Edmunds.

The theft took place at some point between 1.30pm on Monday, 17 August and 8.20am on Tuesday, 18 August, outside a property in Mayfield Road. A catalytic converter was taken from a silver Honda Jazz.

Vehicle owners have been advised to be vigilant by:

  • keeping private vehicles parked in secure garages where possible and if no garage is available, in a well-lit public area.  
  • Keeping commercial vehicles in a locked building or compound
  • Using alarms, lighting and CCTV to deter thieves.
