Lorry driver due in court for driving HGV after taking cocaine and cannabis in Pakenham

A 40-year-old lorry driver from Lowestoft is due to appear in court in relation to drug driving, driving without due care and attention, and tachograph offences.

Police were called on 21 December 2019 at around 12:30pm to a single vehicle collision involving a heavy goods vehicle on the .

The male driver of the lorry, a man in his 40’s from Lowestoft was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre. He was bailed to return to police. Results of blood tests showed that he had more than seven times the level of legal level of cocaine and an excess of cannabis.
