Man charged after incident in Abbeygate Street

Police have charged a man after an incident in Bury St Edmunds.

Officers were called just after 6am yesterday morning (Saturday 1 January) to a flat on Abbeygate Street after a report of a disturbance in the property.

Two victims, one man and one woman, had suffered minor injuries. They have since been released from West Suffolk hospital.

A man was arrested at the scene. He was subsequently taken to West Suffolk Hospital having also suffered minor injuries, before returning to the Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

24 year old Harry McMenamin of Cricks Road in West Row was charged with two counts of actual bodily harm and one count of criminal damage to a door. He has been remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Monday 3 January at 10am
