Man in his 50s arrested for drink driving after travelling wrong way on A14

A man has been arrested for drunk driving the wrong way on the A14.

The vehicle was spotted on Sunday evening at around 11pm, by members of the public who reported a Ford Focus travelling westbound on the eastbound carriageway on the A14 at Rougham.

Police Officers from the Roads and Armed Policing unit stopped the vehicle and arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of dangerous driving and drink driving.

He was taken to custody and questioned and has been released on police bail until 31 October pending further enquiries.
