Man who died in cycle collision in Bury St Edmunds is named

A man who died following a road traffic collision in Bury St Edmunds last week is being named by police.

Officers were called at 6 pm on Monday 12 April, to reports of a collision involving a bicycle and a blue Nissan Qashqai in Newmarket Road.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were also in attendance, but the cyclist sadly died at the scene.

Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, the deceased has now been identified as Stephen Lawrence, aged 65, from Risby.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, along with anyone driving in the area just prior to the incident who has a dashcam in their vehicle.
