UPDATE – Moreton Hall Christmas lights stolen and leads cut

UPDATE: A person/persons have come forward to admit the theft and damage of one of the displays on the Moreton Hall. They will be making an official report to the police.

Resident Sophie Banham said “I can’t thank the community enough for your voices, your efforts and all your well wishes. We hope that everyone affected over the weekend will have the answers they deserve over the next few days. ”


Residents on the Moreton hall been left “upset and angry” over the weekend after their external Christmas decorations on their homes have been sabotaged and some even stolen.

Multiple households took to social media to express their anger, including resident Sophie Banham, who had the cords cut on her Christmas lights.

Some residents also reported that their decorations had been completely stolen. Speaking on Facebook resident Kevin Winch said that he had his “laser lights taken from my front garden. Incl ext lead, timer and power box”

Many of the incidents took place on Kembold close where families light displays are part of fund raising for St Nicolas Hospice
