My WiSH launches hospitals Virtual Christmas Present appeal

The My WiSH Charity has launched its annual Virtual Christmas Present appeal for the second year to ensure each patient who spends Christmas Day under the care of the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust receives a gift.

The charity supports the work of the Trust which includes the West Suffolk Hospital and the Newmarket Hospital along with their work in the community.

Sue Smith, head of fundraising for the charity, said: “No-one wants to be in hospital on Christmas Day but sadly, for some, this is a reality. We want to make sure everyone receives a gift to hopefully bring a smile to their face and to let them know that the community is thinking of them.”

Donations start from just £2 and donors can choose a “gift” and leave a personal message.

Sue added: “Each ward will be allocated money to buy the gifts and this includes not only West Suffolk Hospital but Newmarket Community Hospital and Glastonbury Court. Currently the hospital cannot have visitors and if this continues to Christmas Day wouldn’t it be wonderful if together we could bring a bit of cheer to everyone.?
