Officers receive award for their part in arresting criminal gang for a £450,000 theft

Two Police Officers from Bury St Edmunds Roads and Armed Policing team received Merit Certificates for their part in identifying and arresting a criminal gang for a £450,000 theft.

It relates to an ongoing investigation and an incident that occurred in February 2020.

Between 1am and 6am on 9 February 2020, offenders forced entry into a compound at Saxham Business Park in Little Saxham. Once inside the compound, a trailer was uncoupled from a lorry cab and then attached to another cab. The trailer and the contents – bikes – were stolen.

Two men, aged 30 and 36, were arrested on 19 February and were questioned. They were subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.

The investigation is ongoing.

When asked them how they did it, they answered ‘Teamwork’!
