Police appeal following serious A14 collision involving a motorcycle

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the A14 in Rougham at the weekend.

Officers were called at just after 10.20pm on Sunday 19 September, to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a red Yamaha motorcycle on the eastbound carriageway.

The rider – a man aged in his 50s – was taken by ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital having sustained serious injuries. His condition is currently described as critical but stable.

The eastbound carriageway was closed whilst a collision investigation took place & for recovery of the vehicle, reopening at 7.40am yesterday morning, Monday 20 September.

Any witnesses to the incident, or anyone travelling along the A14 in the Rougham area between 10.10pm and 10.20pm on Sunday night and who saw anything that could assist police enquiries, are asked to make contact.

Motorists with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle who were driving in the area during the times stated above are asked to review their footage.
