Police remind us to secure and document bicycles

Police in Bury St Edmunds are reminding us to check the security of our bicycles. Officers say that it is the time of year where they see a rise in thefts.

We are being advised to make sure our bikes are secure to deter opportunistic thieves as well as documenting the serial number, make, model, colour and taking a photo of the bike so that officers can reunite you with it easier if it is stolen.

Officers are also advising us to do the same for other items such as power tools, jewellery or fishing equipment.
