RWSfm 103.3 to extend it’s FM coverage

RWSfm 103.3 has been given permission to extend it’s coverage further in to our
community.

The stations power has been tripled by regulator Ofcom to allow more people to listen in
surrounding villages as well as improved signalling here in Bury St Edmunds.

The station, which holds a community radio licence, is in it’s 10th year of
broadcasting and is run entirely by volunteers providing a local radio station to Bury and beyond.

Station Manager Julie MacLeod said “ our listeners have been asking us for
sometime to expand further a field, we applied to Ofcom in June 2018 and
confirmation and now clearance has been provided. We are over the moon to be
able to provide even more listeners with our services which include local news,
traffic and travel and of course excellent music from our wonderful presenters.

The station, a not for profit organisation will now launch a crowd funding page to raise funds to pay for a more powerful transmitter and hopes to be able to launch the enhanced service in the spring next
