Armed Police called to incident in Bury St Edmunds

Armed Police surrounded a flat in Bury St Edmunds yesterday after concerns of the safety of a man.

Armed Officers were seen blocking the outside the flat on Prospect row at the rear of the Arc at around 9:15 yesterday morning.

A spokesperson from Suffolk Police said “Police were called to a property on Prospect Row in Bury St Edmunds at about 9:15am today (Thursday 4 Nov) to reports of concern for the safety of a man.

Officers entered the property and safely restrained him. Ambulance crews are now supporting the individual. No-one was hurt in the incident and was no wider threat to the public”.
