A man has died and four people have been injured following a road traffic collision near Euston.
Police were called just after 7pm yesterday, Thursday 17 August, to reports of a serious collision involving two cars – a silver Audi A4 and a grey Audi A6 – on the A1088.
Police, ambulance crew, an air ambulance and the fire service were all in attendance to the incident.
The driver and sole occupant of the Audi A4, a man aged in his 40s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver of the Audi A6, a woman aged in her 30s, sustained life-threatening injuries. Her three passengers were children, two of whom sustained serious injuries. They were all taken to hospital by land ambulance for treatment where they remain.
The A1088 was closed in both directions between the A1066 in Thetford and Rushford Road, Euston. It reopened around 10:15am this morning, Friday 18 August.
Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and ask that any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
