Appeal after attempted burglary at Barton Mills home

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary at a property in Barton Mills.

The incident happened at around 12.40pm on Tuesday, April 7, at a home on Mildenhall Road.

Police say an unknown male suspect attempted to gain entry by smashing a patio door and trying to force it open. The homeowner challenged the intruder, who then fled by jumping over a garden fence.

The suspect is described as a white man, of slim build, aged between 30 and 40. He was wearing a black baseball cap, dark trousers and a high-visibility long-sleeved jacket.

Officers are now asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area at the time to come forward.

They are also keen to hear from residents with CCTV or other security systems that may have captured footage which could assist the investigation.
