Body found at rear of Bury St Edmunds car park

A police cordon is in place after a body was found in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called just after 11am on Friday 28 April after a member of the public found the body of a man near to the Ram Meadow car park in the town.

Formal identification procedures in respect of the deceased have not yet taken place, but the family of the man, aged in his twenties, have been informed.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained while enquiries remain ongoing and a Home Office post-mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow.

A scene remains in place while the investigation into the cause of the man’s death continues.
