A 54-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds has been sentenced to 36 weeks in jail after admitting to multiple offences, including burglary and drug possession. Gavin McConkey, who has no fixed address, was sentenced on September 28 at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court.
McConkey pleaded guilty to a burglary that took place at a business on The Cornhill in Bury St Edmunds on September 26, during which bottles of alcohol were stolen. He also admitted to being in possession of cannabis and breaching a suspended sentence order. He was arrested and charged the day after the burglary, on September 27.
In addition to his jail sentence, McConkey was ordered to pay £250 in compensation.
