A woman has died following a road traffic collision near Brandon.
Police were called by the ambulance service just before 10:50am yesterday, Saturday 18 October, to reports of a serious collision on the B1106 involving a black Ford Focus car and a bicycle.
Police, Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service, the ambulance service and the air ambulance all attended the scene. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the cyclist – a woman aged in her 70s – sadly died at the scene.
The B1106 remains closed between Elveden and Brandon while emergency services and collision investigators carry out their work.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was driving in the area and may have relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
