A 37-year-old man from Elmswell has been jailed after he failed to comply with the conditions of a suspended sentence.
Steven Barnes, of Broom Meadow Lane in Elmswell, appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 27 November where he pleaded guilty to failing to attend follow-up drug assessments relating to class A drugs.
His suspended sentence was activated and he was sentenced to 16 weeks’ imprisonment.
Sergeant Allard said: “Class A drugs are responsible for wreaking havoc in our communities. Unfortunately, Barnes demonstrated a total lack of regard or willingness to engage with professional services to help him so action had to be taken.”
