Hotel worker left with serious injuries after car crashes through front doors

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious RTC in Bury St Edmunds last night.

Officers were called at 8:05 pm yesterday, Friday 8 March to reports of a single vehicle RTC on Etna Road.

A Renault Captur car was in collision with the Premier Inn hotel, smashing the front doors and entering the building. A member of the hotel staff, a man in his 20’s sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to hospital where he remains.

Ambulance and fire crews were also in attendance.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 50’s was not injured.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage.
