For thirty-two years Matthew was a family doctor and medical writer in a country practice close to Bury St Edmunds.

Although he has had a lifelong interest in promoting classical music in the community, it’s only recently that RWSfm have launched him onto the airwaves with his dream job of a Classical Show. As well as playing a wide variety of classical recordings he has plenty of stories about the music you hear.

Matthew plays the French Horn in several orchestras, including the Bury St Edmunds-based Suffolk Sinfonia. When not playing music or on grandparent duty, he can be found on the Suffolk rivers sailing his boat, or , more likely, stuck on a mudbank.
