Police hunt driver following fail-to-stop collision on A14

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fail-to-stop road traffic collision.

Officers were called on Tuesday 18 July at around 4:15pm. to reports of a two vehicle collision on the A14 at Woolpit between junctions 46-47.

A silver coloured Audi TT car was in collision with a blue Volvo S40 car on the eastbound carriageway, causing the Volvo to leave the road. Nobody was reported injured.

The driver of the Audi failed to stop at the scene and continued driving at speed through the roadworks, colliding with a number of cones before leaving the A14 at junction 47. It is believed than he bonnet of the Audi was completely up during this time and the vehicle had two flat tyres.

Police have since recovered the Audi vehicle involved but are keen to identify the driver at the time of collision. Witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact Bury St Edmunds Police quoting incident 263 of 18 July.
