Troston Bull celebrates after guest house receives top AA accolade

The Troston Bull is celebrating after its guest house, the PearTree Inn, was awarded a top accolade by the AA.

Owners Ben Davenport and Sam Darling announced on social media yesterday that the guest house has received five stars, being one of only two inns in Suffolk to get the top accolade.

Best friends Sam & Ben acquired The Bull in October 2020 before purchasing a neighbouring 1760s farmer’s cottage in December 2022, which has since been fully renovated and opened as the “ultra-luxe seven-bedroom guesthouse” the PearTree Inn.

The business wasn’t just recognised for its guest house, the breakfast was also given an award and the pub itself received two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.

Speaking on Social Media Ben and Sam said “Suffice to say the whole team is chuffed to bits, the Champagne has been going down well and with big beaming smiles, a warm welcome awaits you all“.

It has been a good week for the business, which also was rated as one of the cosiest pubs in Suffolk as voted for by readers of the East Anglian Daily Times.
