Weather for Bury St Edmunds

Sam’s Weekly Weather Report

Hello everyone, I am back and I am going to be doing my report as usual.

The upcoming week: Still hot and dry, but not as hot as the previous week.

The cool down that I was expecting at the start of June has kind of come to reality, but will only be temporary. As the trough of low pressure stays near to the north of the UK, whilst the high pressure that we have been used to over the past week will be trying to fight back once again. As winds underneath the high will be spinning in a clockwise direction, they will tend to be coming from a SW direction. So since the high has been more centered over us, that has allowed the air to sink more rapidly and expand, thus allowing the air to warm more quickly.

The rest of this week and into July:

As the week continues, temperatures will stay roughly in the mid to high 20s, and there could even be a 30. But overall, it is yet again going to be another mostly good, sunny and hot week to come. Some thunderstorms could be established as we end the week and go into July, but with all of the heat warming are sea and increased water vapour and moisture put into the atmosphere, it could deliver the chance for some prolonged spells of thunderstorms into July. But with the exceptionally dry ground and hot air that we’ve had, which is really heating the ground, we might be up for more extended hotter weather. But anything can happen, as we have seen from this springs’ drought ended up with a level 2/3 thunderstorm, as did the record breaking summer 2022 heatwave. And yes, just to clarify, we are not going to be in a heatwave this week, for that to happen we need 3 or more consecutive days above 28c.

Outro:

Thanks for looking and appreciating my weather report. If it looks a bit less detailed than usual, that is because I have written it in a different location than usual.
