Woman banned from keeping animals after encouraging dog to bite a Police Officer

A woman from Bury St Edmunds whose dog attacked a police officer has been disqualified from keeping animals for five years.

Peyton Mcarry, aged 29, of Chalk Road South, appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Friday 9 August, where she admitted being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control. She was also fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim’s surcharge of £48.

The incident occurred earlier this year, when Mcarry encouraged the dog, a Mali cross, to bite the officer while they were on duty at her home on Wednesday 24 January. The officer was unhurt in the incident and the dog was subsequently put down by a vet.
