A14 to remain closed in to the evening following serious collision near to Beyton

Police are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A14 near to Beyton.

Police received a report of a three vehicle collision at just after 6pm this evening (Thursday 30 March) on the east-bound carriageway.

Fire and ambulance crews were also called to the scene, as was the air ambulance.

The road in both directions is currently closed in both directions at junction 43 eastbound & junction 46 westbound. Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to find alternative routes while initial investigations are conducted and the carriageway is cleared and made safe.

No details of any casualties will be released at this time.

The road is likely to remain closed for considerable length of time tonight. Police would also like to thank motorists for their patience while the incident remains on-going.
