Black Lives Matter protest in Bury St Edmunds

Around 500 people have gathered in Bury St Edmunds for a for a Black Lives Matter protest.

The protest, which have taken place around the world in response to the death of George Floyd, took place on Angel Hill Sunday afternoon 7th June.

Attendees, who were asked to wear masks and socially distance, heard speeches from local people and took part in a 9 minute silence to mark the length of time police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on George Floyd’s neck last Monday.
