Bury St Edmunds man sentenced for multiple drug offences

A man from Bury St Edmunds has been sentenced to 5 years and 9 months in jail after pleading guilty to a series of drug offences.

Sam Roles, aged 26, from Winthrop Road, Bury St. Edmunds had pleaded guilty in May 2024 to the following offences:

– Conspire to supply a class A controlled drug – cocaine – between 1 Dec 2022 to 11 May 2023
– Conspire to supply a class B controlled drug – other – between 1 Dec 2022 to 11 May 2023
– Concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a class B drug – between 1 Nov 2022 and 11 May 2023
– Possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – Cannabis – on 10 May 2023
– Acquire / use / possess criminal property – on 10 May 2023
– Acquire / use / possess criminal property – on 16 April 2024

He was remanded to prison pending his appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday 20 November, when he was given custodial sentences totalling 69 months.
