The popular Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw is gearing up for a new season starting in April (weather permitting), and is now taking bookings on 01284 339449. Rides are free to local people who need a little help getting out and about, and passengers are collected, with a friend or carer, from their home for a spin round town.
The rickshaw clocked up 1400 miles last year, having launched in June, and is expected to do even more this season. Additional volunteers are currently being recruited, and anybody interested should call 01284 339449 or go online at www.bserickshaw.org.uk

“We were really happy with our first summer of rides â we had lovely passengers and fantastic weather! There is something very special about seeing the town from a rickshaw, you canât help smiling and thereâs always lots to discuss on board!
âWe are already filling the calendar from April onwards and will again be working with most of the care homes in town to offer regular rides. But we are especially keen to hear from neighbours, carers, or relatives of people who can rarely get out and about for whatever reason. Remember, itâs a free service and we collect people from their home anywhere in Bury.â
