Cable tied across road in Bury St Edmunds causes damage to a taxi

Police are appealing for information after damage was caused to car in Bury St Edmunds at the weekend.

The incident occurred at approximately 3am on Saturday 18 December in Out Westgate.

A vacuum cleaner power cable had been wrapped around a lamppost and then spread across the road. The cable then got caught in a passing taxi, which caused the vacuum to be pulled out into the road and strike the vehicle, denting and scratching it.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area prior to the incident. Anyone driving in Out Westgate in the early hours of Saturday morning with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle is asked to review the footage.
