Police and ambulance crews were called to Bury St Edmunds today, Tuesday 10th November, after a car collided with a Christmas Tree.
The collision, which happened at around 3:30pm, knocked over the Christmas tree on Angel Hill. The tree had only just been put up hours before hand by Our Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk Council. One person was treated by ambulance crews and taken to West Suffolk Hospital for further care.
Officers from St Edmundsbury Police said it was a “genuine accident , we wish the lady a speedy recovery and the tree too”.
Mark Cordell from Our Bury St Edmunds said that the tree needed to be “examined before a decision could be made as to whether it can be put back up”.
The tree was donated to the town by the Rougham Estates.
