The A14 was partially blocked this morning after a lorry shed it’s load of metal poles.
The problem was reported at just after 6:30am and saw lane one of two closed for nearly 5 hours.
Both lanes were later closed, at around 10:30am to allow a crane access to lift the heavy poles off of the carriage way. Suffolk Roads and armed policing unit were forced to put a diversion on off and back on at St. Saviours (Junction 43)
There were reports of around 4.5 miles of congestion back to Junction 46 at Beyton. The delay also caused grid lock in the town with reports of extra traffic on the roads around the Moreton Hall Estate.
The road was fully re-opened around 11:30am.
