Parts of the town centre were closed this morning after an incident at the brewery. A lorry, which was carrying carbon dioxide, hit the gate prompting a large scale response.
The road at Churchgate Street (Theatre Royal) and Westgate Street was closed to vehicles and pedestrians whilst they dealt with the incident. Police and six fire appliances attended the incident which at just before 9am. Five other fire appliances from across the county were stood down en route.
All roads and pedestrian access has now re-opened.
