A man who had an unknown liquid thrown in his face last night has been discharged from hospita. Police say that it isn’t yet confirmed what the liquid was.
Officers, including armed response units, arrested three teenage boys following an incident yesterday evening.
Officers were called shortly after 6.40pm today, Tuesday 21 July, following reports that a male had thrown an unknown liquid in the face of a man â aged in his 20s â while he was in the car park in St Olaves Precinct.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment after he sustained minor injuries.
A spokes woman from the East of England ambulance service said “We were called to the St Olaves Precinct at around 6.40pm last night following reports that two people had been injured in an assault. We sent two ambulances and an ambulance officer. Crews treated a male and a female at the scene before transporting them to hospital for further assessment and care”.
Three teenagers, aged 16, 17, 18, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and will be taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Suffolk Police say that the investigation is still at an early stage but believe that the parties involved are known to each other and there is no wider threat to the community.
Five fire crews, three from Bury St Edmunds and two from Haverhill were also called to the scene but were later stood down.
