Family appeal after statues stolen from Risby Crematorium memorial plot

A family has launched an appeal after two statues have been stolen from a memorial plot at Risby Crematorium.

Kayleigh Ann Roe, who was 32, sadly took her own life back in October of 2018 following a battle with her mental health. Jodie Laura, Kayleigh’s cousin said “It was a long battle with mental health, post natal depression and spending a considerable length of time in Wedgewood House”.

On Saturday 2nd of May at around 2:30pm family members went to lay flowers to find that two statues had been stolen. They had last been seen on Friday the 1st of May by the gardener.

The two statues are described as white, one of a little fairy which is around 10 inches tall and the other was a larger sized and heavier statue, around 2ft tall, of woman sitting.

Kayleigh’s Aunt, Tracey Turner said that “Someone must know who did this” adding that her “sister, family & friends have been through enough”.

The family say that they have since been approached by another lady who has also had a statue stolen from the plot she has at the Crematorium.

Jodie said “We just want them back or if anyone has any information to contact the police”. The family have since launched a JustGiving page in the hope of replacing the two statues with any excess funds being donated to a mental health charity.
