Hedgehog dies after a group of teenagers placed it in a bucket which was repeatedly kicked

A hedgehog has been killed after a group of teenagers put in a bucket which was repeatedly kicked.

The incident happened in the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds on Monday at around 5:40 in the afternoon.
Five teenagers, four male and one female, were seen putting the animal into a bucket before it was kicked in the air and then repeatedly kicked on the ground.

The hedgehog, a species officially classified as vulnerable to extinction, suffered severe injuries and is believed to have died.

Some of the teenagers were in school uniform at the time of the incident.
