Line-up of top chefs revealed for Food & Drink Festival

The theatre kitchen line-up for two days of top local chefs at the Our Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival has now been revealed so that visitors can make sure they don’t miss the kitchen secrets of their favourite local eateries. Whether you want to learn how to mix the perfect cocktail or recreate tasty Asian street food in the comfort of your own home you’ll find it all in the Stoves Cookery Theatre on Cornhill.

Sunday’s demos start with Still Good Food at 10; 1921 at 11; West Suffolk College at 12; Maison Bleue at 1; Forage Kitchen at 2; The Northgate at 3 and Lilian’s Kitchen at 4. On Monday Sally Bycroft and Maria Broadbent demonstrate that rice is nice at 11, followed by Casa at 12; ICE at 1; Vino Gusto’s wine professional at 2; Three Kings at 3 and Baskerville’s cocktails at 4.

Zack Deakins from 1921 will be cooking at the Our Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival.

Chief Executive of Our Bury St Edmunds Mark Cordell said: “I am really excited by the line-up this year. We’re able to showcase more local establishments than ever before, hopefully introducing some of them to potential new customers and reminding established customers why they love them. There’s plenty of seating at the theatre kitchen but if there’s a demonstration that you really want to see I’d advise getting there early to guarantee a good seat.”

The 2022 Our Bury St Edmunds Food & Drink Festival is a free admission two-day event promising a full menu of food and drink treats and displays as well as a host of family fun. In addition a farmers’ market will be on Angel Hill and dozens of stalls will line the town centre selling a range of cuisines from around the world and everything those who love cooking could desire, from ingredients to kitchenware.

For families there will be a range of children’s activities in and around the town centre, including fairground rides and street entertainment across both days. Giant games and a circus skills workshop at arc shopping centre are just two of the free and fun ways to help work up an appetite. The festival’s chosen charity this year is East Anglian Air Ambulance.
