Man attacked with crowbar in Stanton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a crowbar at a bus stop in Stanton.

The assault took place at around 6.50pm on Tuesday 25 October in Wyken Road. A man sitting on a bicycle was approached by another man and hit to the face with a crowbar. The victim’s bike was also damaged.

Police arrested a man on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon. Following a search of his property, he is also being investigated for possession of a class B drug and possession of a firearm offence. The suspect has been released on bail.
