A man has been charged with criminal damage following an incident In Bury St Edmunds.
Police were called at approximately 3:10am this morning, Thursday 8 April, to reports that a man was using metal fire bucket to damage the doors of the Marks and Spencer store on the Buttermarket.

Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage. He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Investigation Centre for questioning.
30-year-old Matthew Banks was subsequently charged with criminal damage and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates today.
Banks, of no fixed abode, told officers that he wanted to be arrested so he had a bed and was fed for the night.
