Man dies following serious collision on A14

Police remain at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A14 at Coddenham.

Officers were called to a two vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway at about 4.50am this morning (Friday 2 April).

The incident involved a lorry and a car. A male passenger in the car died at the scene. The driver of the lorry was unhurt. Another passenger and the driver in the car sustained minor injuries.

Road closures are in place on the westbound between junction 51 and junction 50 with diversions in place.

These are likely to remain in place for some time and drivers are advised to find alternative routes.

The male driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and taken into custody.

Investigations are underway to establish the cause and the road remains closed to allow these to take place and clear the debris.
