Man in his 70s dies after collision on A14 near Bury St Edmunds

A man has died following a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian on the A14 near Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at 2.26am on Thursday, May 7, to reports of the incident on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 43 and 44.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and are asking motorists who were driving in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage to review it for anything that could assist enquiries.

A spokesperson from Royal Mail confirmed that one of its vehicles was involved in the incident.
