A man has sustained serious stab injuries after an incident in Bury St Edmunds.
Police were called at 03:55am in the early hours of today, Sunday 20 June, to reports that a man had been seriously injured following an incident on Winsford Road in the town.
Officers located a man in his 40s in the road having sustained serious stab wounds. The victim has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by ambulance where he is receiving urgent medical attention.
Police investigating this incident have arrested a man in his 50s on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and he has been taken into custody for questioning.
Police scenes are in place and at this time Winsford Road is completely closed off. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
