Police and immigration enforcement visit car washes to disrupt modern slavery and human trafficking

Police have carried out a multi-agency operation in West Suffolk tackling modern slavery and human trafficking.

Officers from Suffolk Police, HM Immigration Enforcement and the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority visited car washes around the west of the county.

Speaking on social media Sergeant Dan Peck explained that officers were “working to understand if there are any victims of modern slavery and investigate any offences we might find”.

It is understood arrests were made at the Fiveways services on the A11.
