Police appeal following serious single vehicle collision in Barrow

Police are appealing for witnesses or information following a serious collision in Barrow.

Officers were called shortly after 9.10pm on Sunday 17 October, following reports of a collision involving a single-vehicle – Black Seat Leon.

The sole occupant and driver – a man aged in his 20s – was driving along Barrow Hill road when the vehicle left the road and subsequently ended up in a ditch.

Police, fire, the ambulance service and a volunteer paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) attended the scene and the man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via ambulance after he sustained serious injuries. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Road closures were put in place while an investigation into the circumstances took place.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, along with anyone driving in the area prior to the incident who has a dashcam in their vehicle.
