A man has been arrested after an incident a convenience store in Bury St Edmunds. 

Officers were called to the Lake Avenue shops at 6:40pm this evening, Friday 5th February, to reports of a man assaulting staff and members of the public.

The man was located nearby and arrested. 

Speaking to RWSfm a spokesperson from Lake Avenue Store and Post Office said “An incident occurred at the store tonight where 2 off duty members of the team were assaulted with minor injuries that didn’t require hospital treatment thankfully. The culprit has been arrested and is in police custody”.

28 year old Ayden Devine of no fixed abode but of Bury St Edmunds was charged with assault – he was remanded to appear before Ipswich Mags Court on Monday.
