Police charge pair follow lead thefts from a West Suffolk church

Police have charged two people following the theft of lead from a church in Hartest near Bury St Edmunds.

It took place at some point between Monday 14 and Wednesday 16 October 2019 when lead, worth around £30,000, was stolen from the roof of All Saints Church on Lawshall Road.

Police made enquires and arrested a 32-year-old male and a 38-year-old male in Lincolnshire on suspicion of the theft of lead.

32-year-old Constantin Motescu of Sutton Hill in Telford and 38-year-old Sucea Lanourentiu of no fixed abode were subsequently charged with theft on 25 May. They were remanded and are due to appear before Lincoln Magistrates Court today (Thursday 11 June 2020).
