Residents invited to have their say on West Suffolk’s parks

Residents are being encouraged to share their views on some of West Suffolk’s most popular parks as part of a new council survey.

West Suffolk Council has launched a consultation to gather feedback on six Green Flag Award-winning parks across the district.

The survey covers:

  • Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds
  • Aspal Close
  • Brandon Country Park
  • East Town Park
  • Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds
  • West Stow Country Park

The council says the survey will help it better understand how residents, visitors and community groups use the parks, how satisfied they are with the facilities and what improvements they would like to see in the future.

The feedback will help shape future management and investment as part of the council’s commitment to maintaining clean, safe, welcoming and accessible green spaces.

Councillor Ian Shipp, West Suffolk Council’s cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: “West Suffolk is home to some amazing parks and green spaces, including six which have Green Flag status. These are important places that allow people to connect with nature and each other, improve health and wellbeing and build thriving communities.

“I encourage everyone to complete the survey, whether they are a frequent or occasional user of any of the six parks. The information gathered will help shape future management and investment, ensuring that our parks continue to meet the needs of our communities now and in years to come.”

The survey opened on Friday, July 17, and will remain available until Sunday, September 6. It takes around 10 minutes to complete.

Residents can complete the survey and find more information about parks, open spaces and play areas managed by West Suffolk Council on the council’s website.
