Two men arrested after break-in at Bury St Edmunds phone shop

Police have arrested two men after a break-in at the O2 Phone Shop in the Butter Market, Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at approximately 2:15 am this morning, Thursday 29 April,  by CCTV operators who spotted three men with hammers breaking into the shop. On arrival, all three men fled the scene with stolen property.

After a short chase involving officers from multiple teams, including the dog unit. Two males, an 18-year-old man from Ipswich and a 14-year-old boy from Leeds were arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remain.

A third male remains outstanding and police are conducting enquiries to locate him.

Speaking on Twitter a spokesperson from Bury St Edmunds Police thanked officers from Norfolk and Suffolk’s Police Dog Unit, Norfolk & Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team, Haverhill Police, and Stowmarket and Mid Suffolk for their assistance.
